A police officer has one of the toughest jobs . . . and so does that man's wife! Overworked, underpaid, and overloaded with concern and stress; this is often how an officer's wife recieves her husband when he is off duty. The funniest and best part is, is that when the job does go right, then it makes everything all worth it. This is one officer's wife's daily register of her and her husband's journey:

I cleaned and packed all day yesterday. You'd think there wasn't so much work to go away a few hours, but I like the house spotless, so there it it. Hubby got back from work late. We decided it would be best to leave this morning. So as soon as the baby got up, we hopped in the car, and set off. Boy oh boy, traffic was horrible! It took us about an hour and a half longer than it should have! Crazy! No joke. Our son was so good on the trip too. We are so blessed. Our friends made lunch for us, but we got there so late, that we didn't really eat it. Oh! I forgot to tell you one of the most amazing things! The people we were staying with offered to watch our baby while we go out to dinner . . . on them! Wow! So we at a light late lunch, then just bummed around for a couple of hours. It was time to get ready. I love staying there because the room we stay in is as big as our whole house! It is nice, modern, and has the most luxurious bathroom ever! Big change from ours! Ours doesn't even have a bath in it, and you can wash your hair the same time as you take a deuce! Nice . . . I know. Anyway I took a shower, relaxed, and got ready for our date. It was so nice. We started out with fried green tomatoes, salad, fillet, then shared strawberry shortcake. It was amazing! I had a couple martinis, and one shot. The last time we went out we had a shot together too. Don't judge us on this, but when we had the shot, we toasted to "one more year!" It sounds awful, I know! But we think it's funny. For as much as we don't see each other, and as much as we have differences of opinions, at the end of the day, we talk it out, and love each other. He was made for me and I know that, so for us to say one more year, makes us remember that each day, moment, second count, because most couples don't get to stay together. We want to focus on us; it's just a joke. He always tells me don't sweat the small stuff because we have forever together. Awwwwww! Ok, so then we went back, put the child into bed, and chatted the rest of the evening away. Tomorrow we go to the zoo. So excited!
